SILK CARE

Silk is not simply
a fabric

At SERIBERI, silk is the embodiment of quiet luxury. Woven from 100% pure Mulberry silk, Grade 6A, 22 momme, it represents the highest standard of craftsmanship — prized for its natural luminosity, fluid drape, and enduring strength.

Care that
rewards intention

To own silk is to enter a ritual — one that rewards care with lasting beauty. When treated with intention, silk not only preserves its own elegance, but continues to care for you — nurturing your skin, protecting your hair, and enhancing the depth of your rest over time.

Caring for
your silk

Silk is a noble fibre — exquisitely soft, yet remarkably resilient when respected. The following steps will preserve its natural radiance for years to come.

01

Cleansing

Silk should be cleansed with a gentle touch, preserving its natural lustre and the integrity of each fibre.

  • Cold water only, maximum 30°C
  • Mild, silk-specific detergent
  • Move softly — never rub or wring
  • Rinse thoroughly in cold water
  • Or: delicate machine cycle in a laundry bag
02

Drying

Silk fibres are most delicate when damp. Handle with particular care in this state.

  • Never tumble dry
  • Press excess water gently between soft towels
  • Air dry naturally, flat if possible
  • Keep away from direct heat & sunlight
03

Pressing & Finishing

Restore the natural drape of your silk with effortless elegance through considered finishing.

  • Iron on low heat only
  • Always press on the reverse side
  • Light steaming is preferred
  • Steam restores drape without pressure

Silk is more than a material — it is a way of living. With thoughtful care, it evolves — becoming softer, more fluid, and increasingly personal with time.

The Seriberi Philosophy

Silk Bedding

Pillowcases
& Fitted Sheets

For restorative rest

With consistent, mindful care, silk bedding maintains its smooth, frictionless surface — helping to reduce hair breakage, support skin hydration, and create a deeper, more restorative sleep experience.

  • Wash separately or with other delicate fabrics
  • Avoid heavier items or garments with fastenings
  • Use a silk-appropriate detergent, cold water only
  • Rotate bedding pieces to ensure even wear
  • Air dry flat, away from direct light

Silk Accessories

Hair Scrunchies
& Accessories

For effortless protection

Over time, silk accessories continue to protect the hair — maintaining softness while reducing tension and breakage with each wear. Gentle care preserves their elasticity and sheen indefinitely.

  • Cleanse delicately by hand only
  • Avoid excessive stretching when washing
  • Reshape gently before drying
  • Allow to air dry naturally
  • Store flat or loosely, never compressed

The Four Principles of Preservation

I

Only Gentle Cleansers

Use only silk-appropriate, pH-neutral detergents. Harsh chemicals permanently compromise the integrity and luminosity of each fibre.

II

No Bleach or Softeners

Both strip silk of its natural proteins. Silk carries its own innate softness — it requires no chemical enhancement.

III

Rotate Your Pieces

Rotate bedding regularly to ensure even wear and to allow fibres to rest and recover between uses.

IV

Quiet Attention

Handle with care, especially when wet. Damp silk is most delicate — treat it as something genuinely precious.
